| Line | Location | Opening date | number of platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beckton | part of Jubilee Line station | 28th March 1994 | 2 |
Canning Town is part of a transport interchange. The station itself is of an unusual design, with the DLR platforms above the Jubilee Line platforms forming a 'double-deck' structure. There are also two platforms on the North London Line main line railway, and a bus station from which runs a shuttle to London City Airport.
The station is alongside Bow Creek (the River Lea).
The planned extension from here to Stratford International will see the current North London Line platforms taken over by the DLR.
Overall view of Canning Town station from the adjacent bus station. The 'double-deck' layout of the station is clear here—the DLR platforms are stacked above the London Underground Jubilee Line platforms, while on the left are the National Rail (North London Line) platforms. Access is via subway, which connects the DLR/Undergound platforms to the National Rail platforms and the bus station
