Rigby Road depot is a short distance from the seafront, south of Blackpool town centre, next to Blackpool Transport's offices and bus garage. Access for trams is via a spur off the Promenade tramway via Lytham Road and Hopton Street; there is also a rarely-used single track which runs along Blundell Street and Princess Street to Foxhall Square.
As well as stabling for all operational trams and tramway engineering vehicles, a number of out-of-service trams are stored here. There are also maintenance facilities and a paint shop.
