Jesmond station is an underground (cut and cover) tunnel on the edge of Newcastle city centre. The northern end of the platforms is also the northern end of the tunnel through the city centre, and from the end of the platforms it is possible to see the line curve up to join the original Newcastle Central–South Gosforth railway alignment.
Jesmond Metro station replaced the original Jesmond railway station.
